Few city courses in Scandinavia carry the history that Bromma Golf does. Founded in 1932, it is one of the oldest golf clubs in the Stockholm area, predating the postwar boom that spread the game across Sweden. The course occupies land in Bromma, a leafy inner suburb just west of the city center, and its mature trees, gently rolling terrain, and compact routing have the lived-in character you only get from decades of continuous play on the same ground.
The layout is relatively short by modern standards, which suits its urban setting — precision and course management matter more than raw power here. Swedish golfers tend to prize shot-making intelligence over length, and Bromma rewards exactly that tradition. The greens and fairways reflect the Nordic seasons honestly: lush and soft through the long summer evenings, firm and demanding as the season stretches into autumn.
For visitors to Stockholm, Bromma offers something genuinely rare — a chance to play a real, rooted members' club close enough to the city that you barely need to leave it.
