Calabash sits at the very southern tip of North Carolina's Brunswick County coast, a town so close to the South Carolina line that it practically straddles it. The area has become one of the most golf-saturated stretches of the American Southeast, with dozens of courses packed into the corridor running from here up through Ocean Isle Beach and Sunset Beach — a destination draw for Mid-Atlantic and mid-South travelers who want coastal golf without Myrtle Beach's prices or crowds.
Meadowlands fits the character of this region: a par-72 layout in a community that takes its golf seriously and caters to visiting players who rotate through multiple courses in a long weekend. The Brunswick County belt tends to favor gently rolling terrain cut through coastal plain forest — longleaf and loblolly pine lining the fairways, with the occasional water hazard doing more of the defensive work than dramatic elevation changes.
The climate here stretches the playable season well into November and brings it back early in March, which is part of what keeps the Calabash corridor busy and why a course like Meadowlands stays in regular rotation for regulars and newcomers alike.
