Designed by Ronald Fream and David Dale and opened in 2001, the course was conceived as a showcase layout for the luxury estate perched on the Eastern Head of Knysna — and it earns that billing. The routing moves through dense indigenous forest, across fynbos-covered ridges, and along cliff edges where the ocean drops away hundreds of feet below, making it one of the most visually arresting courses on the continent.

Pezula has consistently ranked among South Africa's top 10 courses, and the design demands more than just admiration — the wind off the Indian Ocean can render familiar club selections completely unreliable, and the forested valleys punish anything offline.
