Cecil County sits at the uppermost tip of the Chesapeake Bay watershed, where Maryland narrows to meet Delaware and Pennsylvania — a crossroads landscape of rolling farmland, tidal creeks, and hardwood forests that has quietly supported a handful of solid public-access courses for decades. Patriots Glen lands in this setting on the outskirts of Elkton, a small town better known as a historic waypoint on the old post road between Philadelphia and points south than as a golf destination. But the surrounding terrain — gently contoured, with mature tree lines and the kind of open sky you get when a course sits close to agricultural land — gives the layout a spacious, unhurried feel.
