Powelton Club

Few clubs in the Hudson Valley carry the kind of institutional weight that Powelton Club does. Established in the late 19th century, it ranks among the oldest private clubs in New York State, and its grounds in Newburgh reflect that era's vision of what a country club should be — a retreat from city life, set against the broad sweep of the Hudson River valley. The club's golf course dates to a time when the game was still finding its American footing, and that heritage is woven into the layout.
