Molinetto Country Club occupies a storied position in Italian golf — one of the most respected private clubs in the greater Milan area, it has long served as a gathering point for the city's serious golfing community. The course traces its roots back several decades and sits on the irrigated Lombard plain east of Milan, where the historic navigli canal system once carried goods and water across the region. That agricultural flatness is the canvas, but the design makes intelligent use of mature trees, water features, and carefully shaped ground to create definition and strategic interest.
The layout demands precision rather than power. Tight tree-lined corridors and well-placed hazards reward players who think their way around rather than simply swinging hard, a character consistent with many of the classic private clubs that dot the arc of territory between Milan and its outlying provinces.
Cernusco sul Naviglio itself is a prosperous commuter town roughly 15 kilometers from central Milan, with easy access from the city. The club carries the quiet, well-maintained atmosphere typical of a serious members' institution, more focused on the quality of the round than on resort amenities.
