Lycke Golf & Countryclub sits on the Bohuslän coast of western Sweden, in a landscape that defines this stretch of Scandinavia — wave-smoothed granite outcroppings, wind-bent pines, and the constant atmospheric presence of the Kattegat just beyond the tree line. The club takes its name from the small locality of Lycke, a few kilometers north of Kungälv and within easy reach of Gothenburg, making it one of the more accessible clubs in the Västra Götaland region for city golfers heading up the E6 corridor.
The course winds through terrain that does much of the design work itself. Rocky ridges, natural hollows, and patches of heathland create distinct transitions between holes, and errant shots quickly find the kind of unforgiving Swedish rough that rewards course management over aggression. The setting gives the layout a rugged, unhurried character that feels genuinely earned rather than manufactured.
Gothenburg's golf scene is competitive and well-developed, with numerous quality courses radiating outward from the city. Lycke occupies the quieter, more naturalistic end of that spectrum — a club where the coastal Bohuslän environment remains the dominant impression long after the round is over.
