Georgia's state park golf offerings tend to be underrated, and Highland Walk at Victoria Bryant sits comfortably in that tradition. The course occupies a portion of Victoria Bryant State Park in Franklin County, a quiet corner of the Georgia Piedmont where the rolling red-clay hills and mixed hardwood forests feel genuinely removed from the suburban golf corridors of Atlanta or Athens. Royston itself is a small town perhaps best known as the birthplace of Ty Cobb, one of the most complicated and celebrated figures in baseball history — not golf history, but the local pride is real and the town carries a distinct character because of it. Franklin County sits in a transitional zone between the Blue Ridge foothills to the north and the Georgia flatlands to the south, which means the terrain has genuine movement to it.
