Stockholms Golfklubb is one of the oldest and most storied clubs in Scandinavia, founded in 1904, making it well over a century old. The course sits in Danderyd, a leafy, affluent municipality just north of central Stockholm, and the setting feels entirely in keeping with the club's standing — mature woodland, the quiet topography of the Stockholm archipelago's inland edges, and the kind of unhurried atmosphere that comes only with age and tradition.
The layout winds through dense birch and pine forest, rewarding accurate ball-striking over raw power. Like many classic Scandinavian parkland courses, the challenge here is largely about finding and holding fairways framed by trees, with firm, fast greens that demand proper approach angles. The club has long been a fixture in Swedish golf's upper tier and carries a members' culture that takes the game seriously without taking itself too seriously.
Danderyd itself is a comfortable, well-heeled suburb, and the club reflects that — well-maintained, genuinely welcoming to guests, and a strong representation of what Swedish golf at its most established looks and feels like.
