Golf du Chammet

Peyrelevade sits near the top of the Plateau de Millevaches, one of the highest and most elemental landscapes in central France — a vast, windswept plateau of peat bogs, glacial lakes, and open moorland that feels nothing like the manicured Loire Valley or the Bordeaux wine country most visitors picture when they think of France. The Corrèze département is walking country, forestry country, quiet country, and golf here comes with that same unhurried character.

Golf du Chammet is a rural, understated layout that belongs entirely to its environment. The plateau's altitude — routinely above 900 metres — means the course plays into genuine upland conditions: cooler temperatures even in summer, frequent Atlantic winds pushing in from the west, and a landscape that shifts between meadow grass and pine plantation. Fairways tend to sit on open, rolling ground rather than manicured parkland, which keeps the feel honest and unpretentious.
