Pinedale sits at roughly 7,200 feet in the Upper Green River Valley, flanked by the Wind River Range to the east and the Wyoming Range to the west — some of the most dramatic high-country scenery in the American West. Rendezvous Meadows takes its name from the historic fur-trade rendezvous that took place in this valley during the 1820s and 1830s, when mountain men, Native Americans, and traders gathered annually along the Green River. Playing here, that history feels genuinely present in the wide-open sagebrush terrain.
At this elevation, the thin air adds real distance to every shot, and the short Wyoming summers mean the course operates in a compressed season, typically June through October. Afternoon thunderstorms roll in fast off the mountains, so morning tee times are a local habit worth adopting.
As Sublette County's primary public course, Rendezvous Meadows serves a small but devoted ranching and outdoor-recreation community. Expect a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere — this is golf where the elk on the adjacent meadow may well outnumber the other golfers in sight.
