La Bête

Few resort courses in Canada carry a name with as much menace as La Bête — "The Beast" — and the golf largely delivers on that promise. Designed by Graham Cooke and opened in 1999, the course winds through the Laurentian Mountains at the foot of the Mont-Tremblant ski resort, a four-season destination that draws visitors from Montreal and well beyond. Cooke routed the layout through dense boreal forest, with mature stands of birch and pine pressing tightly against fairways that demand accuracy off the tee as much as distance.

The Laurentians provide a spectacular backdrop, particularly in autumn when the hardwood foliage turns the hillsides into a riot of red and gold — easily some of the finest fall golf scenery in the country. The terrain is genuinely hilly, and elevation changes play a real role in club selection throughout the round.

La Bête sits within the broader Tremblant resort complex, sharing the area with its sister course Le Diable. Together they anchor one of Quebec's most complete golf destinations, blending mountain drama with polished resort conditioning.
