Traverse City Golf & Country Club is one of northern Michigan's oldest private clubs, part of a region that has grown into one of the Midwest's most celebrated golf destinations. While the broader area is known for marquee resort layouts, TCGCC has long served as the anchor of the local golf community — a members' club with genuine history rather than a manufactured identity.
The course sits in Grand Traverse County, where the terrain rolls with the glacially carved contours that define this part of the lower peninsula. Hardwoods, pines, and views shaped by proximity to Grand Traverse Bay give northern Michigan golf its distinctive seasonal character — brilliant in summer, spectacular in early fall color, and unambiguously finished by November.
As a private club in a golf-rich corridor, TCGCC offers something the resort tracks around it cannot: continuity, familiarity, and the rhythm of a course that members have walked for generations.
