Few addresses carry more weight in American golf than Medinah Country Club. Founded in 1924 by the Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine — the Shriners — the club was built on a grand scale from the start, carving multiple courses out of the dense hardwood forests and glacial terrain northwest of Chicago. The #1 course is the quieter sibling to the famous Course #3, which has hosted multiple U.S. Opens and the 2012 Ryder Cup, but it shares the same dramatic woodland setting and the same sense that you're playing somewhere that takes golf seriously.
Medinah's grounds are defined by towering oaks and elms, rolling glacial terrain, and Lake Kadijah weaving through the property — a landscape that rewards patience and punishes overconfidence.
