Few resort courses in Mexico carry the pedigree of this Greg Norman design at the sprawling Vidanta complex along Banderas Bay. Norman's Shark Design team crafted a layout that moves through the lush tropical landscape typical of the Riviera Nayarit corridor — towering palms, dense jungle vegetation, and the kind of humidity that turns a mid-morning round into a full sensory experience. The course sits just north of Puerto Vallarta, on the Nayarit side of the bay, where the Sierra Madre mountains meet the Pacific coast in dramatic fashion.
Norman's design philosophy here leans toward the resort-friendly end of his portfolio — visually striking, memorable, and strategic enough to reward better players without punishing the guests who just want to enjoy the setting. Water features and sculpted bunkering give the course its teeth, while the broader Vidanta resort complex means the surrounding infrastructure is world-class.
Banderas Bay draws golfers year-round, but the dry season from November through April is prime time — warm, sunny days with reliable trade winds that add a genuine dimension to club selection on exposed stretches.
