Few golf courses in Italy enjoy quite the backdrop that MareDiRoma does. Situated in Ardea, a coastal town in the Castelli Romani area south of Rome, the club sits within — or immediately adjacent to — the MareDiRoma water and leisure park, giving the property a distinctly resort-leisure character uncommon among Italian golf clubs. The course plays through a flat, Mediterranean landscape typical of the Roman coastline, where stone pines and scrub vegetation define the corridors and the sea air rolls in from the Tyrrhenian just a few kilometers west.
The terrain is low-lying and open, characteristic of the reclaimed Pontine plain that stretches along this stretch of Lazio. Conditions tend to be mild for much of the year, which draws a mix of Roman residents making the short drive south and leisure visitors staying in the wider resort complex. It is not a destination for the tournament circuit, but rather a sociable, accessible club where the setting and the Roman sunshine matter as much as the challenge.
For visiting golfers based in Rome, MareDiRoma offers a practical and pleasant half-day escape — a chance to play golf in the Mediterranean air without venturing far from the capital.
