Vaquero is one of the most quietly prestigious private clubs in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex — a gated, members-only community course in Westlake that has cultivated a reputation for exclusivity and exceptional conditioning since it opened in the early 2000s. Tom Fazio designed the layout, weaving it through the rolling terrain of this affluent enclave just west of Fort Worth and north of the Solana corridor, and his characteristic attention to playability, aesthetics, and strategic variety is evident throughout. Westlake itself sits in a rare pocket of genuine topography for North Texas — gentle elevation changes, native live oaks, and the kind of manicured residential landscape that frames Fazio's broad, sweeping fairways particularly well.
