Point University Golf Club occupies a corner of the Alabama-Georgia border region where the Chattahoochee River defines both the state line and the landscape. Lanett sits in the Chattahoochee Valley alongside West Point, Georgia, a historically textile-driven community that has quietly maintained a modest but genuine golf culture for generations. The terrain here is classic Piedmont Alabama — rolling, wooded, and shaped by the same red clay hills that characterize much of the inland Southeast.
The par-71 layout suggests a course with at least one par-4 converted from what might elsewhere be a par-5, giving it a slightly tighter, more strategic feel than a standard par-72 track. That one-stroke difference in par tends to reward players who manage their game from tee to green rather than simply overpowering the course.
Point University is affiliated with the Christian liberal arts institution of the same name, which relocated its main campus to West Point, Georgia. That connection to a small college gives the club a community-rooted character — the kind of place where local students, faculty, and area residents share the same fairways.
