Few courses in Atlantic Canada can claim the setting that Mill River enjoys. Situated in western Prince Edward Island — quieter and less trafficked than the island's busier eastern corridors — the course sits within Mill River Provincial Park, where the tidal river estuary, mature hardwoods, and rolling farmland create a landscape that feels genuinely unhurried. PEI's short but vivid golf season, running through the warm summer months when the island's famous red-soiled fields are at their greenest, gives play here a seasonal intensity that resort-circuit regulars will recognize.
Mill River is one of the province's better-known public-access layouts, historically drawing visitors who pair a round with the park's broader resort amenities. The parkland routing takes advantage of the natural contours along the river valley, which means elevation changes and water features come into play without the course ever feeling manufactured.
For golfers touring PEI, the western end of the island is an underplayed alternative to Cavendish-area courses — and Mill River is the natural anchor of any itinerary built around that corner of the province.
