Bad Zwischenahn sits at the edge of the Zwischenahner Meer, one of Germany's largest natural inland lakes, and the golf club here makes full use of that setting. The course occupies gently rolling terrain typical of the North German Plain — open, wind-exposed, and threaded through a landscape of mature oaks, birches, and heathland patches that give it a distinctly links-adjacent feel despite being firmly inland. The proximity to the lake means conditions can shift quickly, and a calm morning round can become a demanding test of wind management by afternoon.
The club has long been one of the more respected clubs in Lower Saxony, drawing players from the Oldenburg area and beyond who appreciate a layout that rewards course management over raw power. The relatively flat terrain keeps the walk accessible, but the tree-lined corridors and well-defended greens ensure that scoring well requires precision.
Bad Zwischenahn itself is a recognized spa and health resort town — a Kurort — which gives the surrounding area a quieter, unhurried character that suits a day of golf well.
