Palm Meadows Golf Course

Palm Meadows earned genuine prestige during the 1990s as one of Queensland's most celebrated parkland layouts, hosting multiple Australian PGA Championship events and drawing the country's top touring professionals to the Gold Coast. Designed by Graham Marsh and Bob Shearer and opened in 1990, the course was built with tournament-grade ambitions from the outset — wide, manicured fairways lined with mature palms and water features that reward ball-strikers while demanding patience around the greens.

Carrara sits in the heart of the Gold Coast, a few kilometres inland from the surf beaches and closer in spirit to the hinterland foothills than the coastal strip. The climate is subtropical year-round, meaning lush turf conditions and the kind of warm, breezy afternoons that make a round here genuinely enjoyable regardless of the season.

The course has changed hands and identities over the years, but the bones of the Marsh-Shearer design remain — a genuine championship test that gives recreational golfers a taste of the same turf where Australian tournament golf was once decided.
