Mexicali sits at one of the more extreme addresses in North American golf — the Sonoran Desert floor just south of the California border, where summer temperatures regularly push past 45°C and the Colorado River's ancient delta flattens into a vast, agricultural plain. Campo de Golf Campestre is the city's primary club-style course, a long-established layout that has served Mexicali's golfing community for decades, giving local members and cross-border players from the Imperial Valley a home course in a region that doesn't exactly overflow with options.

Desert golf here is a different proposition than the manicured resort corridors of Los Cabos or Puerto Vallarta. Expect a more utilitarian, members-first atmosphere — a club rooted in the social fabric of a working border city rather than in tourism.
