Cyprus has a golf history that surprises many visitors — the island's courses emerged largely from its British colonial past, and the Episkopi area near Limassol carries that legacy directly. The British military presence at Episkopi Garrison has long sustained a golfing community here, and JSGC — the Joint Services Golf Club — is very much a product of that world: a course built by and for service personnel and their families, set within one of the Eastern Mediterranean's most storied British bases.
The terrain around Episkopi sits on a limestone plateau above Episkopi Bay, with views toward the Troodos foothills to the north and the deep blue of the Mediterranean never far from sight. The climate is classically Cypriot — long dry summers and mild winters — which means turf management presents its own challenges, and the course plays firm and fast for much of the year.
What you get here isn't a resort showcase but a genuine military members' club: unpretentious, community-driven, and rooted in the kind of everyday golf culture that produces solid, no-frills rounds in a setting that happens to be quietly extraordinary.
