Mount Tamborine sits on the hinterland plateau roughly an hour's drive south of Brisbane, rising above the Gold Coast and offering one of the more distinctive settings in Queensland golf. The mountain is known for its rainforest pockets, panoramic escarpment views, and a cooler microclimate that separates it sharply from the coastal heat below — conditions that shape both the feel of a round here and the pace of play.
A par 70 on a mountain layout almost certainly means the course plays shorter and tighter than a traditional parkland test, with the terrain doing much of the work. Elevation changes, tree-lined corridors, and the kind of uneven lies that a flat-country golfer doesn't encounter every weekend are the likely signatures here.
Tamborine Mountain Golf Club has the feel of a genuine community course serving a small, elevated township — the sort of place where locals know every bounce and visiting players from the coast or Brisbane come for the scenery and leave humbled by the geography.
