Rivershore Golf Links occupies one of the more dramatic settings in British Columbia's interior — a routing carved along the banks of the South Thompson River, with the semi-arid landscape of the Kamloops region doing much of the heavy lifting. Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed the course, and his fingerprints are visible throughout: generous landing areas that funnel into well-guarded greens, forced carries that reward commitment, and a deliberate use of the river as both visual anchor and strategic hazard. It's a genuine links-style layout in spirit, though the terrain is anything but Scottish — think sagebrush, ponderosa pine, and basalt bluffs instead of seaside fescue.
Kamloops sits at the confluence of the North and South Thompson Rivers and gets more sunshine hours annually than almost anywhere else in BC, which means a long, reliable golf season by Canadian standards. The dry heat keeps the turf firm and fast for much of the summer.
Rivershore consistently ranks among the stronger public-access courses in the province, drawing visitors making the drive along the Trans-Canada corridor as well as locals who consider it the region's marquee track.
