Perched on the Donegal coast where the dunes tumble toward Gweebarra Bay, this is one of Ireland's oldest and most cherished links clubs, founded in 1930 and long a quiet obsession among those who seek out golf that feels genuinely untouched. The course threads through dramatic duneland, with natural terrain doing most of the architectural work. Blind shots, tumbling fairways, and greens that demand local knowledge reward repeat visits in a way that manicured parkland courses rarely can. The island green on the par-3 5th — reachable only at low tide — is one of the more eccentric and memorable holes anywhere in Irish golf.
