Few golf courses in America carry the kind of industrial backstory that defines Anaconda Country Club. The course sits in the shadow of one of the most recognizable landmarks in Montana — the Washoe Smelter stack, a 585-foot brick chimney that once served the Anaconda Copper Mining Company's massive smelting operation. That copper-industry heritage shaped this entire town, and the club reflects the working-class pride of a community that built something lasting out of a hard-luck landscape. Playing here, you're never quite free of that history, and that's a good thing.
