Cochrane Castle

Few Scottish clubs carry their history quite so literally in their name. Cochrane Castle Golf Club takes its identity from the ruined medieval castle that still stands on the grounds, lending the course a sense of antiquity that most layouts can only pretend to have. The club itself dates to 1895, making it one of the longer-established clubs in Renfrewshire, a county with a proud and dense golfing tradition that includes some of Scotland's most respected parkland and moorland courses.

Johnstone sits in the Renfrewshire heartland, southwest of Glasgow, where the landscape rolls and the weather arrives straight off the Atlantic with little apology. The terrain here is genuine Scottish parkland — mature trees, undulating fairways, and the kind of turf conditions that reward proper shot-making over raw power.
