Jack Nicklaus built his reputation on designing courses that demand strategic thinking, and Bears Best Las Vegas leans fully into that philosophy. Rather than a traditional layout, this is a greatest-hits collection — each hole a replica of a signature design from Nicklaus-designed courses across the American West. The concept puts golfers on reproductions of some of the most celebrated holes in the Nicklaus portfolio, all gathered onto a single property in the Summerlin area on Las Vegas's western edge.
The desert setting is genuine Nevada high desert, with elevation changes, rocky outcroppings, and the Spring Mountains visible in the distance. Las Vegas is not traditionally thought of as a golf destination on the level of Scottsdale or Palm Springs, but it has a legitimate and underrated golf scene, and the Summerlin corridor in particular offers some of the more scenic and well-maintained layouts in the region.
For visiting golfers, Bears Best sits somewhere between resort novelty and genuine test — a chance to play a curated Nicklaus experience without chasing down the originals one by one.
