The Cuneo Golf Club sits in the Piedmont region of northwestern Italy, at the foot of the Maritime Alps — one of the more dramatic backdrops you'll find on any Italian course. Boves is a small town just southeast of Cuneo city, and the surrounding landscape is defined by the arc of mountains that separates Italy from France, with the Po Valley opening up to the north. This is agricultural, unhurried country, and the course reflects that character: a layout that invites you to slow down and pay attention to where you are.
Piedmont has quietly built one of Italy's more interesting regional golf scenes, with a handful of courses spread across the valleys and foothills that attract players who prefer substance over spectacle. A full 18-hole par-72 layout here earns its rounds from a loyal local membership and visiting players drawn by the mountain scenery.
The Alps are essentially always in view, and in the right light — early morning or late afternoon in summer — playing here feels less like sport and more like a reasonable excuse to spend several hours outside in one of Europe's most quietly beautiful corners.
