Gimpo Seaside Country Club sits along the tidal flats of the Han River estuary in Gimpo, a city in Gyeonggi Province that occupies a quietly strategic corner of the Seoul metropolitan corridor. The course takes its name from the coastal character of this lowland terrain — flat, wind-exposed, and shaped by the rhythms of the Yellow Sea's influence pushing inland. Gimpo is perhaps better known internationally for its older airport, once Korea's main international gateway before Incheon opened, and the course shares that sense of a place that has always been close to the action without quite being center stage.
Layouts in this part of Gyeonggi tend to reward ball-strikers who can manage the wind, and Gimpo Seaside is no exception. The open terrain means conditions shift hole to hole, and the estuary views give rounds an unexpectedly scenic quality for a course this close to one of Asia's largest urban centers.
As a private club serving the greater Seoul area, it caters to serious recreational golfers looking for a well-maintained alternative to the more congested mountain-routed courses that dominate Gyeonggi's hillier interior.
