Salt Lake City's municipal golf system punches well above its weight, and Forest Dale is one of the city's older layouts, threading through a mature residential neighborhood on the east side of the valley. Salt Lake City sits at roughly 4,300 feet of elevation, which means the ball travels noticeably farther than it would at sea level — a small but real bonus for visiting players. The valley's dry climate also keeps turf firm and fast through the long playing season, typically stretching from early spring well into autumn.
