Perched along the shores of Possum Kingdom Lake in the rugged Palo Pinto Mountains, The Cliffs Resort is one of the more distinctive golf destinations in the Texas Hill Country's northern reaches. Possum Kingdom is known for its dramatic limestone bluffs, clear blue water, and some of the most scenic terrain in North Texas — and the course reflects that character, with elevation changes and lake views that set it apart from the flat, windswept layouts typical of the region.
As a resort course tied to the lakeside community at Graford, The Cliffs draws a mix of weekend escapes from the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and vacationing families making the roughly 2-hour drive west. That resort DNA means the experience leans toward enjoyment and scenery over pure competitive rigor — though North Texas wind has a way of humbling any round regardless of the design.
