Ashburn Golf Club carries genuine prestige in Nova Scotia golf — it's one of the oldest and most respected clubs in Atlantic Canada, and its New Course (opened in the mid-20th century to complement the original layout) reflects that pedigree. Designed to give the membership a second distinct test, it plays through rolling, wooded terrain that typifies the Nova Scotia interior, where glacially shaped topography gives architects natural contours to work with and punishes anything but a straight ball.
Windsor Junction sits on the outskirts of Halifax, close enough to the city that Ashburn functions as a proper private members' retreat without feeling remote. The surrounding landscape — mixed hardwood and conifer forest, rocky ridgelines, the occasional wetland — gives the course its visual character through the seasons, particularly in autumn when the foliage rivals any backdrop golf in Canada has to offer.
As a private club with a long institutional history, Ashburn maintains high conditions and a culture where members take both their golf and their club seriously. The New Course rewards thoughtful course management over raw power, which is fitting for a layout built to stand alongside a classic companion.
