Gordon Lewis designed this private club layout, which serves the upscale Fiddler's Creek residential community on Naples' southeastern edge. Lewis, a Florida-based architect who has built a considerable portfolio of Sunshine State courses, shaped the routing to work with the region's characteristic flatness — using water, native vegetation buffers, and strategic bunkering to manufacture challenge and visual variety where elevation cannot. The result is a course that demands precision off the tee and rewards players who can manage a Florida-style layout, where errant shots disappear quickly into wetlands or dense cabbage palms.
Fiddler's Creek sits in Collier County, where the golf scene is dense and serious. Naples proper has long attracted a wealthy, golf-obsessed population, and the private clubs here tend to be well-maintained and well-staffed, with playing conditions that reflect serious investment.
As a community club, the course serves its residents first — expect a quieter, unhurried round rather than a tournament showcase, with the subtropical surroundings doing most of the atmospheric heavy lifting.
