Haviksoord

Haviksoord sits in the sandy heathland of the Kempen region, that quiet, pine-studded corner of North Brabant that nudges up against the Belgian border. The landscape here has shaped Dutch and Flemish golf for generations — open skies, heather-lined fairways, and the kind of natural terrain that doesn't need much architectural intervention to produce a satisfying round.

The course itself occupies terrain typical of the Kempen: sandy soil, modest elevation changes, and a mix of woodland and open heath that keeps the routing visually distinct from hole to hole. That underlying sandy base drains well, meaning the course tends to hold up through the wetter months better than many Dutch layouts built on heavier ground.

Leende is a small village on the edge of the De Groote Heide area, a landscape of protected heath and forest that gives the surroundings genuine character. Golfers traveling from Eindhoven — only about 20 kilometers north — often find courses in this corridor a pleasant contrast to the more manicured, parkland-style layouts closer to the city.
