Southern Oregon golf occupies a distinctive niche — far removed from the coastal links scene to the west or the high desert courses of the east, the Rogue Valley carves out its own identity, with a warm, dry climate that stretches the playing season well beyond what most of the Pacific Northwest can manage. Eagle Point sits just outside Medford in the heart of that valley, surrounded by the Cascade foothills and the kind of rugged, sun-baked landscape that gives courses here a character you don't find farther north.
Stone Ridge Golf Club is a full 18-hole, par-72 layout that makes the most of this terrain. Without getting into the numbers, it plays as a genuine test — the sort of course where local knowledge matters and the conditions reward ball-strikers who pay attention to the ground game. The Rogue Valley's reliable sunshine keeps the turf firm for much of the year, which tends to add unpredictability and fun in equal measure.
For visiting golfers, Eagle Point is also worth noting as the home of Eagle Point Golf Course, a John Fought design with a strong regional reputation — so this corner of Oregon punches above its weight as a golf destination, and Stone Ridge fits naturally into that conversation.
