Grandy sits in Currituck County, the northernmost stretch of North Carolina's Outer Banks corridor, where the coastal plain gives way to marshland, pine scrub, and the wide water of Currituck Sound. It's a region most travelers pass through on their way to the barrier island beaches, but the flat, open terrain and mild shoulder seasons make it legitimate golf country — and Carolina Club has served as a go-to layout for locals and visiting beach crowds alike for years.
The course plays as a full 18-hole, par-72 layout, and the low-lying coastal setting shapes everything about how it feels underfoot. Expect firm, sandy soil, wind that can shift a club or 2 in either direction depending on the time of day, and the kind of wide-open sky that makes distance judgment tricky. Coastal Carolina turf conditions tend to reward ground game thinking as much as aerial precision.
