Perched on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, the Gibsons area offers one of the more distinctive settings for golf in western Canada. The Sunshine Coast is accessible only by BC Ferries from Horseshoe Bay, a short but scenic crossing that gives the peninsula its unhurried, away-from-it-all character. The landscape here is classic Pacific Northwest — Douglas fir and cedar framing the terrain, views toward Howe Sound, and a maritime climate that keeps the course playable well into autumn and through much of winter.
Sunshine Coast Golf & Country Club is the kind of members' club that anchors a small, tight-knit community. Gibsons, known to many Canadians as the setting for the long-running television series "The Beachcombers," is a working waterfront town with a loyal local golf culture, and the club reflects that spirit — unpretentious, genuinely welcoming, and rooted in its surroundings.
As a par 72 layout serving a community that takes its golf seriously, the course offers a full, proper test without the resort-circuit fanfare — the draw here is the place itself as much as anything on the card.
