Lake Suzy sits in the quieter interior of Charlotte County, a stretch of southwest Florida that trades the coastal resort bustle for a more settled, residential pace. The golf here reflects that character — this is the kind of community where the course is the social backbone of the neighborhood, and regulars know each other by name before they reach the first tee.
Kingsway Country Club serves the Lake Suzy area as a private or semi-private club woven into a residential development, a format common throughout this part of Florida where fairways and backyards share the same property lines. The terrain is characteristically flat, as it is across most of inland southwest Florida, which puts a premium on course management, accurate iron play, and navigating the water hazards and bunkering that Florida designers rely on to create challenge in the absence of elevation change.
Southwest Florida's golf season runs roughly October through April, when the snowbird population swells and tee sheets fill quickly. Summers are hot, humid, and punctuated by afternoon thunderstorms — playable, but a different test entirely.
