二丈カントリークラブ is rooted in the Itoshima Peninsula, one of Fukuoka Prefecture's most scenically rewarding stretches of coastline — a place where pine-backed beaches, rice terraces, and granite hills converge just west of the city. The course takes its name from the former town of Nijo, absorbed into Itoshima when the municipality merged in 2010, and it sits in the quieter, more rural western half of the peninsula where the terrain rolls with genuine character before dropping toward the Genkai Sea.
Itoshima has emerged over the past decade as one of Kyushu's most visited destinations, drawing visitors from Fukuoka city — barely 40 minutes away by rail — for its food culture, surf spots, and unhurried atmosphere. Golf here carries that same unhurried quality: the courses in this corner of Fukuoka tend to reward players who pay attention to the land rather than simply overpowering it, and 二丈 fits that regional temperament.
As a members' club serving the western Fukuoka market, it offers a genuine local-club experience rather than a resort showcase — the kind of course where regulars know every seasonal shift in the turf and the prevailing wind off the coast has an opinion on most approach shots.
