Dogo Country Club sits in Asan, a city in South Chungcheong Province that has long been associated with one of Korea's most celebrated natural assets — the hot spring waters of Dogo. The resort and spa tradition here runs deep, drawing visitors from across the peninsula for generations, and the country club exists very much within that broader leisure culture. Asan itself lies roughly an hour south of Seoul by KTX, placing it within easy reach of the capital's vast golfing population while feeling genuinely removed from the city.
South Chungcheong Province is rolling, agricultural country, its hills softened by centuries of cultivation and punctuated by reservoirs that feed the region's rice paddies. Golf courses in this corridor tend to work with that gentle topography — fairways that rise and fall without becoming punishing, and a landscape that shifts with Korea's four distinct seasons, from vivid spring blossoms to the rust and gold of autumn.
As a private club carrying the older romanized style "구락부" (the classical Korean rendering of "club"), Dogo has the feel of an established members' retreat rather than a public-facing resort, where the pace is unhurried and the connection to the surrounding countryside is part of the appeal.
