Red Fox Golf Club sits just outside Košice, the second-largest city in Slovakia and the cultural capital of the country's east. The course occupies the gentle countryside of the Hornád River valley, a landscape of rolling agricultural land and scattered woodland that gives way to the outer ridges of the Slovak Ore Mountains. Eastern Slovakia has a continental climate with warm summers, making the region genuinely playable from spring through October.
The Red Fox layout is a relatively modern addition to Slovakia's still-developing golf scene — a country where the game has grown steadily since the 1990s but remains a sport with room to expand. The Košice region doesn't have the density of courses you'd find in western Bohemia or the Tatra resort belt, so a club of this kind serves a meaningful local role, drawing players from the city and the surrounding towns who might otherwise have limited options.
The course plays through open and semi-wooded terrain, with the Hornád valley lending a natural, unhurried setting that suits a club built for members and regional visitors alike.
