Graniteville sits in the western edge of South Carolina's Aiken County, deep in the SRS corridor where the Savannah River defines the state line. It's old textile-mill country — a company town built around the Graniteville Mill in the 1840s — and the surrounding landscape carries that same working character: pines, red clay, modest hills, and a quiet that comes from being a few miles removed from Augusta's orbit without quite being Augusta.
