Hollinger Golf Club

Few golf courses in Canada carry the kind of working-class identity that Hollinger does. The club takes its name from the Hollinger Gold Mine, one of the most productive gold mines in North American history, which drove the founding and growth of Timmins in the early 20th century. That connection to the boom-town energy of the Canadian Shield runs through everything here — this is a course built by and for mining families, not a resort destination or an exclusivity showcase.

Timmins sits in the clay belt of northeastern Ontario, a landscape of boreal forest, muskeg, and Canadian Shield rock that gives the course its character. The surrounding spruce and birch press in close, fairways feel carved from real wilderness, and the short northern growing season means conditions can vary dramatically from May through October. Wildlife sightings on the course are not unusual.

As a member-owned community club, Hollinger punches above its weight for the region. It serves as the social and competitive hub of golf in the Timmins area, hosting local and regional events that draw players from across the northeast Ontario circuit.
