Castlewood Country Club occupies a storied place in the East Bay's golf history. The club sits in the Pleasanton hills at the edge of the Livermore Valley, where the terrain rolls and tumbles in ways that reward creative shot-making and punish complacency. Castlewood actually operates 2 courses — the Hill Course and this one, the Valley Course — giving members the rare luxury of distinct playing experiences within the same club. The Valley Course, as the name suggests, works through the lower, more open ground, though "open" is a relative term in terrain this naturally varied.
Pleasanton sits at the inland edge of the Bay Area, where the climate runs warmer and drier than the coast, and the surrounding hills turn golden by summer.
