Unity Village is home to one of the more quietly distinctive golf settings in the Kansas City metro — a campus course attached to the Unity School of Christianity's sprawling headquarters, a place that has the feel of a private retreat rather than a commercial operation. The grounds carry the same manicured, contemplative character as the surrounding village itself, where winding roads pass through mature trees and well-tended gardens. Playing here feels genuinely apart from the surrounding suburban sprawl.
The course sits on gently rolling Missouri terrain, the kind of inland parkland layout shaped by the region's mix of hardwoods, open fairways, and modest elevation changes. It isn't a destination track in the way a resort course is, but that's part of its appeal — the pace is unhurried, the atmosphere low-key, and the setting has a coherence you don't often find at a standalone public facility.
Kansas City's golf scene punches well above its weight for a mid-sized American city, and Unity offers something the bigger-name courses in the area don't: a sense of place that belongs entirely to its unusual home.
