Bellevue sits at the southern edge of the Omaha metro, where the Missouri River bluffs give way to the rolling plains of eastern Nebraska — and Willow Lakes fits squarely into that landscape. The course takes its name from the water features that shape its layout, with lakes and ponds coming into play across multiple holes and demanding thoughtful shot selection from tee to green. It's the kind of course where mid-handicappers find plenty to enjoy while better players still need to manage risk.
As a public facility serving one of Nebraska's larger cities, Willow Lakes fills an important role in the local golf ecosystem — accessible, affordable, and busy on a good-weather weekend. Omaha's golf community is a serious one, supported by a region that produces strong players and takes the game earnestly, even if it lacks the national spotlight of bigger markets.
