Vernon sits in the heart of the Okanagan Valley, one of British Columbia's most striking inland landscapes — a semi-arid plateau of ponderosa pine, sagebrush, and rolling benchland that drops toward long, glacier-carved lakes. It's a region better known for its wine and orchards than for golf, yet the dry climate and dramatic elevation changes make it genuinely compelling terrain for a course.
The Predator Course takes its name seriously. The Okanagan's benchlands are home to coyotes, rattlesnakes, and birds of prey, and a layout with a name like this one tends to lean into its rugged, exposed surroundings rather than fight them. A par of 71 suggests a design that likely trades length on a hole or two for something more demanding — precision, perhaps, or elevation-driven risk.
For visiting golfers, Vernon offers a quieter alternative to the busier resort corridors further south toward Kelowna. The Okanagan sun is reliable through the summer season, the scenery is hard to beat, and the regional golf tends to reward course management over raw power.
