Few places in British Columbia set the stage for golf quite like Gold River, a small planned mill town carved out of the central Vancouver Island wilderness in the 1960s. Surrounded by old-growth temperate rainforest, mountain peaks, and the tidal waters of Muchalat Inlet, the town sits at the edge of Nootka Sound country — remote, dramatic, and unlike anywhere else on the island. Gold River Golf Club is a community course in the truest sense — the kind of place that exists because the people living there wanted it to, and where a visitor is likely to feel that spirit immediately.
